Alchemy Studio - Yoga Studio in Meridian Charter Township

Sometimes it really helps to know what to expect when considering a new studio and yoga practice. We welcome new students into the studio with genuine enthusiasm and acceptance, no matter your background or yoga experience. The tips below are designed to help you anticipate what to expect on your first visit. Please also consider checking the 'studio etiquette' link for additional tips and information.

  • We strive to be as eco-friendly and paper-free as possible. For your convenience please consider filling out the online registration form and waiver ahead of your first class. You may also download, print, and fill out the waiver form(s) and bring them with you. Forms are also available at the studio upon arrival.
  • Please arrive up to 20 minutes before your 1st class to take care of registration, introduce yourself to the teacher, and familiarize yourself with the studio.
  • We encourage discussion of any concerns - physical or otherwise - with your teacher before class. This information will help us keep you safe during your practice.
  • Although you are encouraged to bring your own mat and towel to class, the studio has mats, blocks, props, and towels for use at no additional charge.
  • Vinyasa yoga is a physical practice. Given all the ways you will move your body during class, comfortable and reasonably modest clothing is suggested. Your clothing doesn't have to match, and you don't have to 'look the part'...just come comfortable and ready to practice.
  • The room is 'gently' heated to just above room temperature, around 80-83 degrees.
  • With the exception of basics or beginner classes, yoga classes are taught to all levels of student ability. Postures are mainly spoken in sanskrit with plenty of followup instruction and explanation in english.
  • Show up, have fun, and do only what you can. Most importantly, keep practicing!
