Introduction to Ashtanga Yoga - an 8 Week Session
with Jade
Begins Friday, August 25th, 6:00am (one week off in September)

This class will focus on the fundamentals of Ashtanga Yoga as taught by Shri K. Pattabhi Jois and Sharath Jois (the holder of the lineage). We will focus on tristhana (breath, posture, gaze) as a starting point to build each student's 5-part practice (sun salutes, fundamental postures, (some) primary series postures, finishing postures, rest).

Traditional Ashtanga Yoga is practiced with consistency to correct imbalances and strengthen the system to stabilize the body and mind. In particular, the Primary Series is specifically designed to heal the digestive system as well. This class will support the development of a home yoga practice; it is recommended that you attend the entire 8-week series.


'Beginning Yoga' - an 8 Week Class Session
with Piril
Begins Thursday, September 7th, 7:30pm
This series of 8 classes is designed for the student that wishes to develop a basic understanding of yoga postures, body alignment and basic structure. Postures and sequences are taught that introduce students to the flow of breath and how it combines with the body's movement and rhythm through asana (posture). Each weekly session will include different postures and sequences to both challenge and educate students, and Piril's competent instruction and encouragement ensures a dynamic and safe experience for everyone. Students of all sizes, abilities and practice levels are encouraged to attend.
